Graphite pencil on paper

  • I made a still life drawing of a small blue vase, a pink plastic butterfly, and scissors. I glued all the objects together to create the still life I wanted and marked a place to put my objects so that it would look exactly the same every time I came back to continue drawing it. I wanted to do something related to beauty but death. I tried to make the still life as realistic as possible and used a lot of shadowing/shading to enforce that. I was unsure of what to use at first but throughout my thinking I realized using random objects that don't relate to each other can really tell a story.

  • What creativity means to me is looking into one's imagination. Imagine anything and it can happen. The world is full of so many things and there is so much you can produce. Our imagination has so much power to create the art of life and death.
