Originally a school project based on pattern, this project turned into something very meaningful . My inspiration was the song “Pelicans We” by Cosmo Sheldrake. I never used chalk pastels and colored pencils much so I wasn’t expecting it to turn out like this. Starting out with a sketch of a pelican and frantically coloring in the feathers while taking a lot of care into the beak. The background is all chalk pastels blended with baby oil and the crown is a last minute addition. I think it suits him well. I named him Greg but misspelled it so he is not King Greig (said like Greg). I love him.
