This artwork is of a girl with fluid blue hair and lively blue eyes. In this artwork, i intentionally used complementary colors when painting the skin and the hair. My intention was to give the color blue a more vibrant and lively feeling, as opposed to the calm or sad feeling we often attribute to the color blue. I also added yellow details in the girl's hair to give it a more vibrancy. I also added varied values of blue and purple to give the hair dimension. I used bright red and yellow tones in her skin to give her a very alive and vibrant appearance. My intent was for the art to feel vibrant and colorful, and improve my use of color in skin tones. My own art has taken a shift towards using more color during this school year in AP 2D art and design and I wanted to portray that in this piece. I also wanted to give the girl in the painting a lively and attentive look, with wide eyes and partly open lips to also portray how I wanted my audience to portray the color blue.

Creativity means that I get to express myself through my artwork, and show how I am feeling or how I perceive the world. While I may struggle to put some things in words, art and my creativity helps me to understand complex emotions or concepts that I think about.
