A Gamja Hotdog is a korean hotdog that is known for the chunks of potatoes on its outer layer. It is commonly seen on the streets of South Korea and very popular amongst tourists. The reason it is called Gamja Hotdog is because the word 'Gamja' means potato in Korean. I had messed around with scale for this project and made the Gamja Hotdog at least 5-6 times bigger than a regular gamja hotdog. After creating the follow hotdog and using slip to attach the clay potato chunks I have experimented with different mediums to see which would give off the best illusion of it being fried. I have ended up using silicone caulk and covering the base of my project with it. The peaks from the silicone caulk helped give off the texture I wanted and then I painted over the caulk to try to resemble the actual gamja hotdog. As a final touch I used the leftover silicone caulk and added red paint to create the ketchup portion for the hotdog.

Creative expression enables individuals to express themselves and shed light on significant subjects, in my case it would have to be the importance of food in Korean culture, creativity to me exposes more people to the different cultures in this world. This helps foster greater connection and comprehension with people.
