Studying music has taught me valuable lessons about the learning process and tenacity. Technical proficiency is a given and requires committed and sensible practice. Music requires thoughtful consideration of many aspects of a work ranging from the technical to the expressive in order to bring it to life. I need to consider the composer and their artistic intent, and develop my own artistic interpretation. My end goal is to create, in fellowship with the composer, a musical experience for the listener that is relational, meaningful, and intentional.

Creativity within music allows me to play with different forms, themes, textures, dynamics, and colors. It gives me the opportunity to share with and have an intentional engagement with the listener.
