“Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me…” — Frank Herbert, Dune This artwork represents how our fears only control us if we allow it to. Each of the snakes represents fears, such as darkness, spiders, blood, and holes. As the snakes contort, the chains connected further constrict her, but they never bite. The snakes stare at her with mouths open wide, taunting her, but by remaining composed and relaxed, her worst fears do not seem to have any impact on her. The second that she shows a sign of fear, the snakes will consume her. I intend to help others who are plagued by their fears understand that in the face of them, staying calm is a strong weapon. With my work, I aim to do storytelling in an accessible and exciting way.

Creativity means being able to express thoughts and feelings that are difficult to express in everyday conversation. Expressing ideas without a filter unlocks the door to never-ending possibilities. The moment my pencil touches the paper, I intend to take a journey to define my unique story.
