I created this tetraptych to explore the way different religions and beliefs overlap. I researched greek goddesses and the origin of tarot cards. I was inspired by the 2d style of ancient Egyptian artwork and the original “Rider” tarot art by Pamela Smith. I decided to depict Amphitrite as the Queen of Cups tarot card, Demeter as the Empress, Alectrona as the Sun, and Hera as Justice. Each card simultaneous represents one of the four elements. It was very interesting to find out how symbols from each belief overlapped.
