ChromaPane Pavilion

James F.

Cardboard, paper

  • Inspiration from the Serpentine Pavillion in London. Desgined with the thought of making a engaging an colorful structure that could be played about. The top of the pavilion is color paned structures that can be climbed in through a ladder below. Access from a stem that leads up into the beautiful color pallete used in the panes. I designed the pavillion to be placed in San Franciscos Botanical Gardens. Inviting for families to come play about. My biggest inspiration while designing and modeling the pavillion is a hill with flowers on it. I made it to feel at home inside of a garden. Another great inspiration of my piece is the Saint Chapelle, after seeing the great colorful glass panes on display after going to Paris. I knew that I had to incorporate it into my work. Overall this piece was made to have a interactive inside making it a great experience for anybody who walks in.

  • To me, creativity is whatever you are thinking about. There are no set boundaries to what one thinks of creativity as. Whatever you think and apply to your life is creative in its own special way.
