Between Life and Death

Kalaya W.

Water color, India ink, acrylic, colored pencils

  • I love nature and I’m very inspired by it, so the piece comes from nature and natural themes (flowers and skull) I’m also interested in folklore and magic, so the insertion of the fairy. The overall theme though from the title comes from the daffodil flowers that represent life/rebirth, and the skull representing death.

  • Creativity to me, is being able to think out of the box. It’s about making things from your own mind and about persevering through mind blocks. It’s about being able to translate that mindset across different areas of study, regardless of the material.
