Beginning

Payton C.

watercolor, gouache

  • This piece is the first in an extended study. It is in whole about something that happened to me that was not the most pleasant. This first piece is about the innocence that predates the experience- reaching into the water without worrying of risks. The water is the unknown and the focus is on the action itself. It is the belief that people will always have best intentions and really subverted my belief in fundamental goodness, even though I still manage to believe in it.

  • Creativity is a form of release, a way to fully explore your emotions and to become more in touch with yourself. Every creative work has a bit of yourself in them.
