• Artist Statement

  My love for the ocean and the environment has always been a huge inspiration for me. For my piece I decided to use the sgraffito method to represent the contrasting colors that lionfish naturally have. I made the lionfish big to show they are invading reef ecosystems and have become the apex predators.

• Creative Statement

  Creativity is the key to advancing society and coming up with ways to make the world better. Creativity also lets students escape the mundane routine of school.
