• Artist Statement

  I painted this piece for my friend's birthday. It's a picture he took of his cat in his backyard (hence the title of the piece). I've always loved giving away art to my friends and family. I think it's fun to make a personalized gift using the skills I've accrued over my 5 years of art school. It's one of my favorite ways to show I care about them.

  To me, creativity is more than just making art. It's about imagination and self-expression.
