• Artist Statement

  This is a portrait of my grandparents dog. It was my first time painting a portrait so I was learning as I went. I started off by painting the rough shape and colors I was going to use and then I added more detail as I went. I really wanted to make the viewer smile as if they were actually looking at her, so getting the face just right was the hardest part.

• Creative Statement

  It means finding your style through trial and error and going with your gut.
