A Peace of Silence

Ryan W.

  • I wrote this poem for my 9th grade culminating project and read it at my 9th grade graduation. Generally, my artistic process involves coming up with a broad idea of what I want the piece to be like, and then I just start writing, taking inspiration from the story I’ve created. Once I’ve written my draft, I briefly edit it so that it flows together more seamlessly. I’m done when the piece provokes the feelings I’m trying to get across.

  • To me, creativity is the ability to access parts of your own individualism and express that through different outlets.
