I used a slow shutter speed of 10 to depict the motion of the toy robot's rotating appendages. I shined a light at the robot to illuminate it in against the shadows of my dark living room. The living room and toy robot are homely images of childhood, contrasting the dark lighting and eerie atmosphere. I sought to transform familiar imagery into something more uncomfortable.
