Things Were Different

Tabitha R.

  • This piece is a work of creative nonfiction based off an experience I had over the summer and inspired by the prose and works of Joan Didion. While there is no explicit reference to Didion's work, the diction and stylistic choices made serve as an echo of some of her early essays.

  • Exploring my creativity through my writing is a way for me to reclaim the chaos of the world around me, instead of shying away from it. Through creating art, I am able to be most myself, share that which cannot else be expressed.
