The Heart Yearns

"The Heart Yearns" is about a writer's unrequited love for a ballerina in their past. The story is set in the early 20th century with prestigious dance companies such as the "Ballet Russes" in touring circuits. The dance descriptions are loosely based off of the Russia ballet (preformed by the Ballet Russes) called "Raymonda", as well as the three act structure written in French (like how the original 1898 score was, for some reason).
Writing this was a very tedious process. There was often a feeling of being unhappy with the writing and feeling it didn't flow very well. So, draft after draft was made to make it at least somewhat readable.

Expressing creativity allows for an escape from the bustling world and all its glaring imperfections. Paradoxically, it also offers a deeper look inside. For no matter how far we hide in the expanding crevices of our imaginations, we always end up right here, cozied up next to our aching hearts.
