The feeling of endless everything

Isaac K.

  • My artwork is a collection of poems I have written over the last year. Although they do not entirely relate to one topic, I felt as if they collectively brought the experience of what an audience may hear when listening to a violin concerto. I intended to evoke a vibe that moves my readers while looking into my surroundings for inspiration. My first poem, A Violin on a Snow Trip Gone Awry, was inspired by a skiing trip where we were stuck in our car for over 24 hours due to a blizzard which contrasted with the warmth I feel when I listen to or play the violin. Just like how one's mood changes when exercising, I wanted to reveal the timber and mellow feelings' prevalence over the cold. My second poem, Seascape, was inspired by my many experiences involving water, including swimming, lifeguarding, and crashing into the waves striding across the beach. The namesake of this collection, Just Endless Everything, was a poem created from my exploration of the environmental problems of our current Earth. As I walked to school every day, smelling the wildfires from far away, taking in the graying view, I hoped to express not decaying nature but the immediate task at hand and the need for not just awareness but also action.

  • While creativity is the ability to foster ideas, it has also been a way for me to express and communicate with others. Having stumbled into different worlds, like biology, poetry, and music, I am grateful for the opportunities to make connections with fellow explorers, musicians, and my audience.
