Stillness in Motion

What led me to take this photo was an assignment that I had for my photography class where you had to take a picture of light in the dark. That day my family took a day trip to the city and we waited until it got dark so I could take photos for the assignment with the city lights as a background. I asked my sister if she could be in my photo and she agreed. We were driving by the Pier and we noticed the bridge looked really nice all lit up for the night so we parked outside a restaurant with dim lighting and I stood there taking pictures for the next few minutes. This was one of many but it was my favorite. I took some from different angles and my sister posed differently every few pictures. I wanted there to be moving in the background so I waited for a car to drive by so I could get it frozen in motion. It came out a little blurry but I really liked how it looked.

It makes me feel like I'm leaving a part of my life in my artwork. It also inspires me to keep making art and expressing myself.
