Starry Nights

I produce beats, but mainly electronic music. I normally start by playing around on my piano and finding a chord progression I like. I load that into my software and start to create melodies. I end up scrapping melodies after a couple of days. I take my melodies and add drums over them. Sometimes I use odd sounds and make them into kicks, for example in this piece, I took a sample from me falling down the stairs, messed with the audio from the video, and made it into a kick. I then make a bassline that follows the chord progression and moves the song along. Then I start to add in all the fluff. Usually, it is like a cycle and I end up deleting a lot of bigger pieces and changing them heavily due to trying to make it both perfect and sound appealing to me. I then mess with all the levels until I like them. Then I share my songs with my dad, who listens to them and gives me feedback. I either take it and change it a bit, or I do not. After all of that, I either put it on SoundCloud or just keep it for myself because I get shy about sharing my music online.

Music provides a safe place for me to express my feelings and escape my loneliness and other undesirable feelings.
