• Artist Statement

  Ever since the pandemic, appreciating nature has been an aspect of my life I want to pursuit more. This picture was taken on a walk with my sibling, and I went into the photo shoot with the goal of finding a beautiful scene that I could also attach emotions and a story to. At face value, it is a plant with small water droplets, but the picture reflects how there is beauty in all different shapes and sizes, as well as how beauty can be formed despite destructive conditions (of the rain). Although the photo was taken with the focus of being visually appealing, I think there is a certain storytelling aspect that is reflected in the minor details, which adds to, if not goes beyond the visual appeal.

• Creative Statement

  Creating art is a way for me to combine thoughts and a physical scene. In order to create meaningful art, I am forced to reflect on and pinpoint a certain emotion, as well as consider a way to fold that emotion onto a piece.
