  • Photography has always been a comforting way to capture a moment for me. I got my first phone in third grade and instantly started taking pictures of everything in sight. Ever since that day, I fell in love with photography. I soon received a digital camera and learned that photography has a deeper meaning than just capturing the moment. A photo has a story behind it and is complex, conveying a deeper meaning.

As I began photography class, I came to realize that capturing the moment was not as meaningful as the story behind it. I started to take pictures for photography assignments that portrayed a deeper meaning. I have been influenced by many photographers at MC and around the world that help me understand what photography means to me. I feel a personal connection to photography as I take pictures with my digital camera. When I have an assignment for photography class, I don’t just look at it as a checklist, but rather a way to express myself and my ideas. Photography is a way to express the beauty in the world, my ideas and so much more.

  • Exploring and expressing my creativity impacts my life because it allows me to feel like myself. When I explore and express my creativity, I feel free and able to do whatever I set my mind to.
