Prelude, Fugue, and Allegro in E-flat Major by J.S. Bach

Neil C.

  • My school was putting on a talent show, and initially, my friends and I wanted to play the Better Call Saul theme. We ended up doing it, but the day before the show, we played Psycho Killer on a whim, and in all honesty, it sounded better than what we had been practicing. We decided to do both songs for the show, but considering that we decided to play Psycho Killer not even 24 hours before the performance is awe-inspiring. As a result, we ended up forming a band. Our bassist suggested calling our group "Bill Skins Fifth" because of a headline she saw while watching Silence of the Lambs, and we unanimously agreed. Even though we're seniors that will be forced to go our ways soon, we still aspire to play more together, and hopefully, we can land a gig while we're still together. If not, playing with them for fun is enough because of how much joy it brings me to bond over our shared music taste.

  • Exploring and expressing my creativity affects my life on a daily basis. For me, singing or performing is my livelihood--I've been doing it for as long as I can remember. From musicals to performing covers of songs at school, I live and breathe for music and in turn, it empowers me.
