I have been writing music for 3 years now, and I usually only write for string orchestra (2 violin parts, 1 viola part, 1 cello part, 1 contrabass part). This is my 14th piece that I have written. With my knowledge as a high school orchestra violin student, I was able to specialize each instrument's section.
I began writing this piece with the intention of it being in a different key than just major or minor. I was able to accomplish this by writing it in the key of "lydian", which is almost similar to major, but with a raised fourth degree.
I began writing this piece with the two-chord progression of major I and dominant II, and the price went where my imagination took me.
Then, I introduced a new key or harmonic major, within the same key signature. This key is used extensively in popular music as well as orchestral, so I gave it another turn by adding more accidentals. After a key change again, I used a coda to tie it back to the beginning and ended with a fade-out type ending.
In class, we are currently practicing this piece to play in our spring concert.
I hope you like the piece.

I like writing music because it helps me let out some feelings and at the same time have playful experiments. It helps me analyze patterns in other songs that are popular, to an extent, and I have realized how to look at the high level of pieces of music instead of each specific part separately.
