Panis Angelicus by C. Franck

Alex S.

  • This is Panis Angelicus, a piece by César Franck sung in the key of F major to accommodate my bass voice. This piece is a beautifully composed hymn about the Holy Eucharist, a Catholic sacrament. This was sung at my grandmother’s funeral as it was one of her favorite ecclesiastical songs to both sing and hear. She initially sang this while she was in a choir at a catholic boarding school in Ohio, and she has loved this song ever since. To commemorate her life, I sang this piece for her as she departed from this world.

  • Creativity is a thing that impacts how I think and act in many areas of my life. Thinking of new ways to adapt to certain situations and circumstances is a thing I practice daily, from discussions to athletics. So exploring and expressing that unique creativity is very important to me.
