old dog

  • I took these pictures at points in my life where I felt it necessary to capture the beauty of life as I was seeing it. I am a very sentimental person, and one of my biggest fears is forgetting small moments that felt important at the time. The photo I'm submitting is of my dog, Thea. She is an immeasurably important part of my life. I have a lot of personal anxiety about the passage of time, and watching someone you love very intensely quickly go from an excited, bouncy puppy to a snowy-faced, tired creature is a difficult process. However, this moment was from a hot summer day. All I could focus on was that the puppy I had gotten so many years ago was still behind the eyes of the old dog in front of me.

  • Expressing my creativity has saved my life. Whether I'm doing it through makeup or fashion, drawing or painting, or writing, creativity has been the most important part of my life for as long as I can remember. I take photos to remember what I know will get caught up in my history.
