• Artist Statement

  This piece, Morning Break, was a flat lay photography assignment from my freshman year arts class. During this time, COVID-19 was still in its high and so this assignment was completed at home using household objects, with the guidance of my teacher over Zoom. My vision was to create and capture a relaxed, morning scene with a modern, natural, dim-yet-clean feel. While brainstorming this flat lay, I took into consideration texture, contrast, and color palette. Additionally, I used the rule of thirds, leading lines, and for my circular objects the rule of odds. This project was so fun as I was given a lot of creative freedom and could play with aesthetics.

• Creative Statement

  Expressing and exploring creativity provides me an artistic outlet and allows me to pour my soul into work that feels like an extension of myself. Through finding my style and creative process, I am able to further explore myself and learn about how my mind works.
