Laugh

Sana A.

  • I wanted to photograph joy. Most often, when in front of a camera, we make a pose, even if it's unintentional. However, I wanted to capture raw emotion. I invited a group of my friends for a photo shoot in a house which was under construction and asked her to stand in the light. In 15 minutes, I took several hundred shots while my friends were making each other laugh. The need to capture the perfect moment required much patience because I wanted my subject to be expressing the most emotion. I eventually captured this photo, taken at a time when my friend had completely given up on holding in her laughter. The result is a contagious smile that lights up the dark setting.

  • Using my art, I visualize my thoughts into a physical form, making them easier to understand for me and those around me. These ideas come from my daily life, like who I'm surrounded by, or what I see in my enviroment.
