Honey and Amber

Isabella S.

  • This piece is about feeling every emotion all at once, in one place. It pulls inspiration from a Jewish Sleepaway camp I attend each year. The piece discusses how one day I won’t be able to visit every year. That I won’t be able to have the same careless manner. That one day I’ll only have the pictures and faded memories. It’s nostalgic and raw. This piece hits extremely close to home because of how emotional my summers are there. I discovered my sexuality and self-identity there. Found friends who I don’t have to put up a front for. Most importantly, I found myself and became comfortable with who I am there. For that, I’ll forever be grateful.

  • Creativity is in every aspect of my life. Finding new ways to add my own twist on even the most mundane things is one of my favorite things.
