• Artist Statement

  This is a digital photo of my friend at our school's homecoming dance. I took a lot of photos that night, and due to a combination of the low lighting with occasional flashes, and the constant movement of my subjects, I was left with some unique photos. I really enjoyed this photo because everything in it, from the dramatic lighting to the stark silhouette of my friends skirt to the motion blurs felt emblematic of that sort of frenetic energy you feel as a young person around your friends.

• Creative Statement

  Art is the one focus where I feel confident that I have achieved skill through much hard work. Creative things are really the primary passion of my life. Pretty much everything that ever makes me feel happy to be alive is somehow creative, be it photography, architecture, fashion, or illustration.
