• Artist Statement

  The photograph that I have submitted is a display of a normal and natural thing: grass. However it dives deeper into the natural beauty of the grass. It showcases the elegant, vivid green and the smooth texture of the blades. It zooms in on a subject that is normally just walked over and demonstrates that if you look at something that one might not normally find aesthetically pleasing or beautiful from a different angle, you can find beauty in anything. When taking this photo, my artistic process was to look at something from a different vantage point then someone usually would and explore the world in a different way then I do when I live my life normally. Holding the camera to my eye gives me a greater appreciation to the hidden details of the world that people overlook on a day to day basis.

• Creative Statement

  By exploring my creativity through photography, I see the world in a different way. Anytime I go on a hike in nature or see an interesting contrast from natural lighting, I imagine it as an image. I have the urge to use a camera and capture the moment forever so that others get to experience it also
