Backyard Birdhouse

  • Before I go out an take photos I double check all of my settings on my camera (Nikon D300s) and change them over and over again and retake a photo over and over again until it looks how I want it. When i'm out taking photos of stuff that move (maybe of insects) I put the settings how I think they would be best first and then edit them if needed. I like to always have a camera on me, if I don't have my Nikon D300 I have a 2008 small Canon one.

I never edit my photos as a personal and artistic choice. There's absolutely nothing wrong with editing a photo but for me photography is about taking something in life and making it look how it feels. Maybe though your eyes it looks plain, but through a view finder it looks like a movie. Through the right angle it looks like art. That's my favorite part of photography.

  • If I didn't express myself creatively I would be more crazy than I already am. It's an outlet and a source of joy for me. Photography encourages me to leave the house, explore places, and really enjoy and look at the details of everything around me, because anything can be a great shot if you look.
