A Heron and its Reflection

I took this photo of a Galapagos Lava Heron fishing in a calm tide pool while on vacation with my family. The heron's ability to hold still is incredible, and I was able to capture this magnificent bird and its reflection in the still water. The heron and its reflection contrasts the bird's gift of flight to its dependence the water to survive. While we may always feel expected to fly high and push for the limit, this Lava Heron and its reflection serves as a gentle reminder to make sure to come down to land too—you may depend on it.
