Women’s March

Lily R.

  • After the Supreme Court deemed the Texas Abortion Bill as constitutional a feeling of fear was all that I felt for my future as a young women. Being in the school newspaper I wanted to show the rest of the student body that we are not alone in these fears and that women and people alike weren't staying silent. My partner and I truly experienced being a journalist first hand as she took photos, I captured the moments of a protest in San Francisco through video, together we wrote an article describing the event. With voices of mothers, daughters, and activists boomed through my tiny microphone, my camera captured the colors, the faces, and a view of support which flooded my lens allowing me to truly produce a video I am proud of.

  • For me creativity is that ability to express myself in any form possible. Of being able to understand the world in the respect of my own words or in many cases videos. Capturing my understanding to show audiences that perspective is the meaning of creativity. to express, to interest, and to teach.
