Wedding Death Catrina

My art teacher gave us a project which was to make an Alebrije or a Catrina. I chose to do a skeleton because I found them beautiful. Most people did Catrina's because of culture but mine was slightly less serious. When I was younger I always said I never wanted to get married, so I made my skeleton have a wedding dress as a representation to what I would say I would feel like if I ever got married. I started out with a sketch of a wedding dress but I thought it would look too plain with just a white wedding dress. The first thing that came to mind was red petals, not in a romantic way but in a desperation need of boldness, darkness, and color. I thought a crown would be needed so it was perfect, red petals and a rose crown. My art teacher only let us use flour and water as paste, newspaper, Popsicle sticks for the neck, and wire for the bones.

Creativity is something someone forms. It looks authentic and new. In creativity you can see the thought and dedication behind it, it stands out.
