• Artist Statement

  For this photo, I was practicing photographing in Manual Mode. I decided to take a walk near the coast because I've realized I am inspired and compelled when working next to the ocean. I chose this composition because I loved the perspective from behind the branches. In photography, it is prevalent that people take a step forward, getting rid of the objects behind you. Instead, I took a step back into the brush, accepting what came behind me.

• Creative Statement

  It means to be able to think outside of the box and do something that is unique from others. It means to find things that are hidden or concealed and bring them into light. It means to create solutions from making connections.
