I often find myself thinking about money and how influential it is in our world today. It seems as though everything is fueled by the wealthy wanting to get richer, which then forces the poor deeper and deeper into poverty. There is a disconnect that allows us to leave behind those struggling if it creates better circumstances for us. People tie their emotions to wealth, finding joy in a pay check and sadness in an empty bank account. There is life beyond cash that is often forgotten. The hold that wealth has on our capitalistic society is what influenced this piece. I wanted to capture how brainwashed we are by materialistic things, we are robots with one goal: never-ending wealth.

To me, creativity is about originality and being true to yourself. Creativity is an expression of your innermost thoughts and feelings. It takes bravery to share your creativity with others and overcome the fear of judgement. The beauty of creativity is that it highlights everyone’s uniqueness.
