• Artist Statement

  Nature is a source of comfort, of solace, of peace. There are infinite extraordinary things that can be found in the lush greenery, soft blue skies, or damp earth. This photo, taken on a macro lens, holds one of them: a perfectly round drop of dew, reflecting the blue of the sky, presented on a blade of grass as if it is an offering. It is a reminder that in the coldest of mornings or darkest of nights, Mother Nature shows us beautiful things-- hopeful, serene things-- if we have the patience and faith to look for them.

• Creative Statement

  Creativity is a way to immortalize moments that have meaning and feeling-- to express something that cannot be spoken. Photography can reveal new perspectives and ideas; it can transport you to the past, or push you to the future. That new point of view forces novel thinking, and thus change.
