Contemplation

My photography is a way for me to capture things I find fascinating and to express myself and my interests. My photography often has a gentler vibe; they don't jump out at the viewer, but rather settle into their view. To come up with ideas and methods, I spend a lot of time just daydreaming and also learning about other photographers. I'm often inspired by the methods of other photographers to create my own photography. In terms of subject, I either wander around to find interesting settings like sunsets or, for smaller subjects, I create or find things I am interested in, such as bacteria cultures or succulents. For the portrait I am submitting, I went over to my friend's home and let them choose their own outfit for the shoot. Then I found nice places in their garden to take photos. I found that I got the best portraits when me and my friend were chatting about something entirely unrelated. My goal with my photography is to express myself to the viewer and show the viewer something they haven't seen before.

To me, creativity is any way I can step outside of uniform thinking in order to both create things and think outside of the box. I can both be creative when creating things like writing and photography, and while solving problems in new and interesting ways.
