Catrina

I made a Catrina out of newspaper and wire, my Catrinas dress, sweater, flowers and head are made out of newspaper and I used a flour and water paste to put everything together. This art that I made came from an inspiration of the Mexican artist Jose Guadelupe Posada. He made Catrinas to make fun of the upper wealthy class, but my Catrina represents my childhood. I incorporated a lot of flowers and leaves to show my love of flowers when I was little. Also for the sweater, I chose the colors of a Venus Fly Trap because that was my favorite plant. Even though it took me a long time to make, it was worth it :)

Creativity means to me a way to express yourself. It is unique and no one can take it away from you. It is the idea of going out of the box and being different. It also means to express yourself in different ways like painting, pictures or even writing.
