Blue Pear

Isabel C.

  • I was painting a series of fruits, but my painting of a pear seemed boring. The shape was too vague, and the background was lacking. I took a risk and drew a red streak emerging from the pear. I continued with the streak, adding dots and creating patterns where I saw fit. I even added a red shadow to acknowledge the color in other parts of the painting.

To bring everything together, I made controlled paint splatters along the red pattern. The result is an abstract painting with a realistic element: the simple, recognizable shape of a pear.

  • People can survive without creativity, but we cannot survive as a society without creativity. The piece of creativity I own is treasured.
