• Artist Statement

  My artistic process for this image was I was on a hike with my camera, taking pictures of the scenery, when I saw a tree branch extending across the path. The branch had a red berry on it which contrasted with the colors of the wood and it had a beautiful background of the cloudy blue sky against the tan ground. I decided to take an image of this because of the colors and composition that I could include in the picture. I adjusted the aperture so the branch would be in focus against a blurred background and adjusted the shutter speed and ISO to find a good exposure without having too much noise in the image.

• Creative Statement

  To me, creativity means expressing yourself through your work and going outside the box of what is expected or common. It is showing your personality in your art and coming up with new ideas or ways to make an interesting image that represents the themes you want to show through.
