A Strangers Footsteps

In my work I like to take candid shots of people and specific parts of them or what they’re doing. I also like using lines around my work. I like the way it frames the photo. When taking a picture I think about what and why I'm taking a photo. For example, sure I may be taking a photo of a tree but what aspects of the tree makes the photo interesting? How does the tree make me feel? Looking back on a photo I want to feel the same way that I did while taking the photo. Whether that is a strong feeling or not. My art is something I use to see the change in my emotions and thought process. My photos now look very different then the ones I took in the fifth grade. It’s an interesting way to watch myself slowly mature. It adds another layer onto my art that maybe only I can truly see. In this particular photo I showed the panic I was feeling. I was by myself in a crowded space which made my anxiety skyrocket. When I took the photo I purposely made it slightly blurry to show how my vision changes. This photo showed my emotions while in that situation which is what I strive to no.

Creativity means using your emotion to create something that means something to you or others. It means sharing a part of yourself to connect with others. It doesn't have to have a huge impact on others. Or anyone. All that matters is that you, yourself, the creator, feel something about your art.
