This film was inspired by my belief in the importance of self-expression, particularly through the punk/hardcore scene, which has personally offered me the freedom to express myself. Whether it’s through hairstyles, makeup, or clothing, I use these things to communicate my emotions, creativity, & moods. Created using iMovie & Splice, the film features images & videos from shows, many of which contain vibrant colors symbolizing the liveliness this scene brings me. These colors represent the energy & comfort I feel in these spaces, where I’ve never felt judged & have found a sense of belonging. The punk scene is a space for anyone who feels rejected due to their background, appearance, or beliefs. It’s a place where you can be yourself without needing anyone else’s approval, embracing the idea that it’s okay not to fit into society’s standards. This culture has become a second home, offering true freedom of expression & comfort.
