This is my solo piano version (with improvisation) of the jazz standard Body and Soul by John Green. The original ”Body and Soul,” written for a film, contains lyrics and is a romantic ballad. When recording this standard, I attempted to honor the warmness and lyrics of the original, while also letting my improvisation be as unrestricted as possible.

Creativity means being able to express one’s experiences and ideas through an abstract form. Furthermore, in jazz, creativity involves balancing one’s unique character and desire to innovate with honoring traditions and the past.
