Burning the Ships

Colored Pencils

  • I was compelled to create a piece on freedom. I wanted to challenge the mind on what freedom is and hat it means to the observer. The Ship in the drawing has a lighthouse on top of it being able to guide its self while being watched over head by the moon. The piece tells a story on a young man that seeks adventure, he is burning the ships of his old life and starting a new one (the old life being represented by the crumbling city underwater). This piece has been very enjoyable to work on I hope you share the feeling of pride that I do.
