To me, Koi fish are so peaceful. Wandering through their pond in a slow rhythmic manner, exploring the pond for food and play. I was looking to paint a piece that brings joy and calm, and was inspired when I stumbled upon a Koi pond in the summer of 2022. I enjoy working with Oil, and thought the colors I chose blended well with the Koi depiction. As I began the piece I had a vision of the colors, the blends, and the movements I wanted to depict of the Koi. With the background being a bit more abstract in certain areas, I wanted the focus to be on the Hot and I believe I did so, I love this piece so much, it's inspired me to paint more often and I am excited to minor in art in college. Creativity is a gift. Allowing myself to express what I want to represent through my artwork is inspiring. By using tools like paint, a brush, and a canvas, I can show others (if I want) my work and how beautifully my imagination and hands work together to create art.
