Blue Desolation

My painting is of a blue figure amidst a sea of blue chaos. The title is "Blue Desolation". To create the painting, I first made a rough sketch by laying down shapes to create a general layout of the face, with a watered-down blue color. I then went back in with different shades to create the final painting. I was inspired by flames, the feeling of emptiness, and the song Easier by Mansionair. My goal was to portray the emotions I was feeling at the time, in a way that wasn't reflective of myself. If I could change something now, I would use acrylic paint and change the movement of the background.

Creativity to me means the ability to express emotions or interests in a way that may be outside of the box—allowing colors, shapes, and sounds to come alive. As well as the space for thoughts to be seen that may not be able to be expressed with words.
