My piece is a pastel recreation of a scene from the movie "Clockwork Orange". It was actually my first time really using chalk pastels and I absolutely hate the texture, but visually I find it pleasing. The assignment was to find a scene from a movie to then master copy, so I decided why not add some shock factor with this incredibly disturbing shot. I almost think it's a reflection of myself while creating the piece. Sometimes it's difficult to look at, but I still force myself to, I mean it was necessary to bring it to completion.

I was a sad child and art, specifically drawing, was my outlet. I was first sent to an institution when I was 9 and it happened to be in the middle of nowhere. It was absolutely miserable, except for the scenery which I was able to draw. I continued to do so when I left, and it became my passion.
