Trash in Space

Lindsay O.

Chalk Pastel, Watercolor, Acrylic Paint

  • This piece is about how we taint the world around us without trash, even corners of the world that shouldn’t be touched by us. I drew inspiration from polluted oceans and the types of landfill found there and instead transferred it into outer space. To us, space is a place that’s sort of untouchable, somewhere that’s too colossal for us to ruin, making the contrast with human-made objects jarring.

  • Creativity to me means being able to collect and find meaning from actions, feelings, and experiences that no one else will see. Everyone experiences the world in different ways and being able to convey those different lenses to others is how we use our creativity.
